I felt the effects of the yen’s depreciation close to me.

I wrote a blog about IT technology the other day and wanted to write an English version, so I asked a friend of mine who lives in Spain to check it.

This time, due to the yen’s depreciation, she said the amount was so small that she thought it was a joke.

The arrangement regarding payment was casual between me and her.
I also did not have a payment commitment in Euros.
But I was horrified to think if it was a business-to-business transaction and I had promised to pay in Euros.

この前、ITテクノロジーについてのブログを書いたので、英語版も書いてみたいと思い、スペイン在住の友人にお願いしてみた。

謝礼は毎回PayPal経由で日本円で払っているんだけど、今回は円安の影響で、笑えるぐらい額が少なくなってたらしい。

友人との間の緩い取り決めだったし、「ユーロで払います」といった契約を交わしていたわけじゃないので笑い話で済んでいるが、これが企業間の取引で支払がユーロで指定されていたと思うとゾッとする。
