I try to translate Japanese what I say into English in my head.
The other day, I thought about how these words are expressed in English.
(This conversation is from my family eating out.)
me : Wait a minute. I’m going to the bathroom.
wife : Please come back as soon as possible. If my kids start acting up , I can’t handle it.
me -> wife : All right.
me -> kids : Hey! Be good until I am back! / Be good boy
日常会話 : 家族での外食
最近、自分が話した言葉（日本語）を、英語だとどんな表現になるのか、考えるようにしています。
先日は、これらの会話を、英語でどんな表現になるのかを考えました。
（家族で、外食している時の会話）
私：ちょっとトイレ行ってくる
妻：すぐ戻ってきてね。この子たちが暴れだしたら、私一人じゃどうにもならないから。
私→妻：わかった。
私→子どもたち：よし、お前ら、戻るまで大人しくしてろよ。
修正内容
Daily conversation : Eating out with the family
→my family
(This conversation is from a family eating out.)
→my family
a family だと、ランダムに何処かの家族の会話のニュアンスになる。
me : One minute, I’m going to the bathroom.
→Wait a minute. I am going to washroom.
もっとカジュアルにすると
I go for a pee.
という表現も。
wife : Please come back as soon as possible. When they start rampaging, I can’t control it.
→rampaging 荒れ狂い回るみたいにきこえるので、
If my kids start acting up , I can’t handle it.
Acting up : 子供が騒いだり暴れる
me -> kids : Hey! Stay calm until I return.
→Be good until I am back!
Be good (a boy/a girl) でいい子にしててねという意味
