「定着する」という単語に、「here to stay」というのがあったんで、こんな用途でいいのだろうか？ と、半信半疑ながらも使ってました

文法的には大丈夫そうですよ。現在完了にするまでもないような気はしますが、間違っているわけでもないですし。
