Will it eventually become “The Grandfather Clock” ?

In my house there is a table clock that I bought by my first salary.
Before I knew it, It had become my first-born son’s toy.
And now, it was inherited to my second-born son.

I mean, how long will it be used?

社会人１年目の時に買った置き時計が、いつの間にか長男のおもちゃと化していたが、今度はそれが次男に引き継がれた。
世代を超えて大活躍！（違う用途で）
つーか、いつまで使われるんだ。これ。

備考

「社会人一年目」に相当する表現が思いつかなかったので、英語の方は言い回しを変えた。
「社会人」に相当する英語って無いのね・・・。

→ 後半、it （小文字） had become ～ （いわゆる「時制」の問題。knew（過去）より一段前の過去完了がベター）

→ あってますが、今も次男くんがご所有なら、And now, it is inherited ～ （タイトルと結末が未来形なこともあり、ここに現在形が入るとスムーズという、全体を通しての感想でもあります）
