I tried writing Hi to my English teacher as her yesterday’s advice when I ask her to correct my English diary.
I thought Hi was a greeting to be used between only close relationship.
But she taught me the following:
I’m not a very superior person, so you can say “Hi!” to me.
Of course, you have to be careful in a business situation or formal place.
I use “Hi!” to my customers, bosses and clerks, and use casually “hey! What’s up?” to close friends.
Oh! I didn’t know that at all!
I’ll use it from now on.
What’s up?

I thought “Hi” is a greeting to be used in only close relationship.
→Hi was
in→between
But she taught me the following:
I’m not a very superior person, so you can say “Hi!” to me.
Of course, you have to be careful in a business situation or formal place.
I use “Hi!” for my customers, bosses and clerks, and use casually “hey! What’s up?” for close friends.

Oh! I didn’t know at all!
→didn’t know that at all!!
I’ll use it from now on.
