When I lived in Okinawa, I didn’t worry about typhoons that much because typhoons come every year.
Even when I heard that “the typhoon approaching in Okinawa will be the biggest on recorded.” I just thought “oh okay. It’s just a little bigger than usual. That’s it.
However, as living in Kyushu area now, I feel a sense of danger about large typhoons.
I didn’t ever concern of running out of groceries from the supermarkets before typhoon hit.
沖縄に住んでいた頃は、毎年台風が来ているので、「観測史上最大級！」とか言われても、「へー、いつもよりちょっと強い程度か。」ぐらいの感覚でした。
しかし、九州だと危機感が凄い。
しかし、九州に住んでいると、大型台風に対する危機感が凄い。
台風に備えてスーパーから食料が消えるという事態は、想像できませんでした。

I couldn’t imagine a situation where food would disappear from supermarkets in preparation for a typhoon.
→I have not ever concern / I didn’t ever concern / I have never thought (どっちでもいい) of running out of groceries from the supermarkets before typhoon hit.
